The Construction Site Manager needed to verify the amount of fill being removed from site to know
in real time what the cost will be and the amount of machines and trucks he will need to complete
works.
Traditionally, we would use manual methods, such as tape measures and visual estimations which
have been time-consuming, prone to errors, and lack accuracy.
So, we used the LiDARx3 APP to measure the stockpiled material. The stockpile volume was
calculated and generated a detailed PDF reports containing accurate measurements and relevant
stockpile data. This saves us time compared to traditional methods, money by knowing the answer
in real time giving us the ability to make on site decisions.
On this site we found that there was more material than previously thought so we had to order extra
trucks to remove dirt off site and had records of the extra cost for contract variation.
